I was born on the Island of Guam. Became a Golden Dragon at the tender age of one. Alright some of the initiation was waived but what self respecting Navy man wants to deal with soggy diapers.
The year of my 16th birthday was a year of many firsts, most notable were snorkeling the flats off Bahia Honda Key and sailing a mirror dinghy that I helped build. (Sorry Mr. Klieve, it was I who left the resin brush on the floor of the garage. We thought removing it with a chisel was a good idea)
Some 25 + years later I was again reunited with those activities I fell in love with in my youth.
During that hiatus, I met the love of my life, Luann, graduated from college, started a career in the nursery/landscape industry, attended 1000’s of our sons’ soccer games, and stood by my wife as she pinned The Eagle Scout badge on both of our sons.
Currently, I am a territory representative for a national supplier of nursery stock (in some circles a fricking salesman). When I am not peddling bushes, on weekends you’ll find me around water sailing or diving. Life on the road does have it’s rewards in that I will be able to dive several of the Great Lakes, the Atlantic, the Florida gulf and keys, and of course LOTS OF QUARRIES this coming year.

AKA Luann, Wife of MWL,  mother of 2 nearly grown diver-sons, a Weimerainer,  and a Labrador retreiver,  Star spends her days in a high school laboratory at Memorial High School. St. Marys, Ohio, instructing tomorrow's pyromaniacs in the finer points of chemistry.  She is also science department chair.   Star holds bachelors and masters degrees from The Ohio State University and Wright State University. She was among the first group of 118 science teachers in the country to receive National Board Certification in 1998.  When not hanging out at the Dr. Pepper machine in Gilboa Quarry, she can sometimes be found on the reef in Belize with a group of the above-mentioned students or on the Lake Erie wrecks off Long Point, Canada.  Star is a NAUIand TDI instructor, and most enjoys teaching the NAUI Enriched Air Nitrox and Technical Nitrox courses. To peruse her class schedule, please see the training page. For more fun in a continuing education dive class than you've ever imagined, go ahead - enroll.
